Why does every women claim to hold doors open for others while so few actually do?
Whenever the question about women holding doors open for others comes up, women always claim that they personally do hold doors open and you never hear any woman admitting to not holding doors open for others.
Yet this flies in the face of common sense, because anyone with a set of functioning eyes can tell you that far and away, women just let the door swing behind them without any regard for the person behind them.
Why do women lie about this?
we consider that as holding the door open.

Every woman?? I don’t hold doors for others… most doors where I hang out are automatic so they hold themselves.
So your personal observations are synonymous with not only “common sense”, but verifiable reality.

I’m always aware of people in front of me or behind me and I do hold the door open–believe it or not. It’s just common courtesy.

In fact, sometimes I even swing the door back violently in the hopes someone like you will be right behind me and walk face first into it.

I’ll be honest – I let the door swing right into the face of anyone behind me. It doesn’t matter if the person is male or female, blind, handicapped, or legless sitting on a skateboard with little wooden blocks in his hands.
Why? Because I don’t really care about anyone else.
And nobody has ever taken me to task for it, so why should I?

before this i may unnotice things, but dudes holding doors for me at the library taught me the lesson. i now hold doors unless people take time to take off shoes or something. once there were many of us and i reached 10 steps earlier, hold the door and wait, the first person after me should continue hold the door for the person next and the person next would hold for the next one and it goes on, but they were all, in a continuous line, ignorantly walk far from the door, not even close to it to hold it, that i ended up holding for like 7 persons straight. they all include both girls and guys. it’s ignorance. individual issues.

Holding doors is small potato for GS women; GS women(with exceptions) pay half on dates, change flat tires, oil, don’t send their men when they hear a noise downstairs in the night but rather they go check it out themselves, they propose their men………well, these are GS women, you won’t find many of those in real life – the real question is, do they really exist in real life and how to find them.
I suppose that I’m one of the few women that don’t lie about my door opening for others, male or female.
I like doors to remain open for me, therefore I hold doors for others.
More often than not, people have lost manners and any sense of social kindness, so, I stopped being dissapointed when mannerless folks just keep slammin’ on by.
